The name
Low light, velvet, by invitation.
In the late 1970s, beneath a nightclub on the Sunset Strip, there was a members-only room called El Privado. You found it by its light, and you got in by invitation.
The name comes from there, and from the everyday Mexican word for a private dining room.
Ours is on Grand Ave. One party a night, and the door closes behind you.
