How booking works
The short version of how booking works. The signed venue use agreement is the full version.
- One event a day
- The whole venue is yours for your block. There’s never a second event the same day.
- Deposit
- 50% of the total holds your date, paid by card.
- Balance
- Due 7 days before the event. Pay by card or bank transfer.
- Security deposit
- Refundable: $500 with the big room, $250 for the patio. We keep your card on file with your signed authorization and charge it only for damage, overtime or extra cleaning. It is not a hold on your card.
- Guest count
- Locks 14 days out and sets the billing floor.
- Insurance
- A certificate of insurance 14 days out: $1M per occurrence, $2M aggregate, naming El Privado and the building owner as additional insured. Liquor liability is required if alcohol is served.
- Agreement
- A signed venue use agreement — a license to use the space, not a lease — is required before the event.
- Hours
- Building is clear by 11 pm. Extra hours are $300 each, arranged in advance.
- Public and ticketed events
- Ask us first, every time. They carry more liability and may need city permits.
- Photographs
- We may photograph the room during events for our own marketing. Tell us if you’d rather we didn’t include your guests.
- Cancellation and refunds
- Our cancellation terms are being finalized. You’ll have them in writing before you pay anything.
